Lipa City is a major recreational, religious, commercial, industrial and educational center in central Batangas province, as shown with the presence in the city of entities like the following: Robinson’s Place Lipa Mall, SM City Lipa, Fiesta World Mall (168 Mall), Mount Malarayat Golf and Country Club, Blu Roze Farms and Wild Life, La Finca Hotel and Resorts, Summit Point Golf and Country Club. Also with academic institutions like; Lipa City Science High School, De La Salle Lipa, Lipa City Colleges, AMA Lipa, Batangas State University, Colegio ng Lungsod ng Lipa, The Nazareth School, Canossa Academy, Stonyhurst International School. Lipa City is also a home of several churches like; the San Sebastian Cathedral (seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Lipa), Divino Amor Chapel or the Redemptorist Church and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.

The City is also considered as the home to the Fernando Air Base, the former headquarters of the Philippine Air Force’s 100th Training Wing and Air Education and Training Command (AETC) which is known in military circles as the Baguio of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
